The math

Break-even = Fixed costs ÷ Profit per unit

Every unit you sell contributes its profit per unit toward your monthly fixed costs (subscriptions, rent, salaries, ads). Once enough units have stacked up to cover those fixed costs, every additional unit is pure profit.

On TikTok Shop, profit per unit is sale price minus COGS minus referral fee (6% US / 9% UK·EU) minus transaction fee minus fulfillment minus affiliate commission (if any). That’s what the calculator above does for you.

What the chart shows

  • Red line — total cost (fixed + variable per unit).
  • Green line — revenue (price × units sold).
  • The crossover — where revenue finally catches up to cost. Below it, you’re losing money; above it, you’re profitable.
