Why Foregrade's numbers differ from TikTok's

TikTok reports show gross revenue; Foregrade shows real profit. Here's why they won't match.

Last updated: 2026-04-17

If you compare your TikTok Seller Center dashboard to your Foregrade dashboard, the numbers won't match. That's by design.

What TikTok shows

TikTok Seller Center reports show:

  • Gross revenue — total sales before deductions
  • Platform fees — referral, transaction, fulfillment fees
  • Settlement — the net amount TikTok is paying you

TikTok does not show:

  • Your cost of goods (they don't know what you paid)
  • Affiliate commissions (shown separately)
  • Your shipping costs (if you ship yourself)
  • Real net profit after everything

What Foregrade shows

Foregrade calculates true net profit:

Your settlement from TikTok
- COGS (what you paid suppliers)
- Affiliate commissions you paid
- Your shipping costs
- Return losses (restocking fees, refund admin fees, lost COGS)
= Real profit

Common mismatches and why

What you seeReason
Foregrade profit < TikTok revenueTikTok shows pre-COGS; Foregrade shows post-COGS
Foregrade revenue = TikTok revenue (exactly)This should match — if not, your sync may be incomplete
Foregrade profit is negativeCOGS + fees exceed revenue — real margin issue to investigate
Foregrade return cost > TikTok refund amountForegrade includes your lost COGS on the returned unit, not just the refund

If revenue doesn't match at all

If Foregrade's revenue is wildly different from TikTok's (more than 5% off), something's wrong:

  1. Check the date range filter — both should be identical
  2. Click Sync now to force a fresh pull
  3. Check if you have multiple shops — Foregrade currently syncs one shop per account
  4. Contact support with the specific numbers and date range
